Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapy that allows you to make changes at a deep level to the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that dictate the quality of your life.
Anxiety and depression are closely interconnected. Depression is rarely seen without anxiety and often consistent anxious thoughts can lead to depression. With the fast pace and pressure of modern day life, it is unfortunately becoming increasingly common to suffer with anxiety and depression, so much so that society is starting to consider these conditions as the normal way to be. The reason why society is struggling as a whole with anxiety and depression is due to the fact that we are constantly activating the stress response for the wrong reasons.
Anxiety is the mind perceiving danger. It doesn’t matter whether the danger the mind is perceiving is a real threat to your survival i.e. running from a tiger in the jungle or an inbox full of overwhelming work emails requiring action, the stress response it produces is the same. It’s when our mind and body have learnt to react to certain situations based on an emotional response. When you on are on high alert, the most simple things can trigger an unwanted response. This is from too much adrenaline in the system and your mind just trying to protect you, invoking the fight or flight response. The fight or flight response should only come about occasionally in response to a real danger and threat to our survival and should not be an everyday mode that we accept as the usual way to live
Nobody is born with anxiety. We come into this world feeling safe, loved and protected. This is a learned behaviour. Events can happen in our life that make us think that we are not safe (rightly or wrongly). To stop anything bad happening to us again our minds go searching for danger. This can explain the constant worrying and overthinking. Our minds are constantly searching for the threat, perceived or actual in order to protect us.
Hypnotherapy can help treat anxiety as it can help you to relax the emotional part of your mind so that you subconsciously feel safe. When you feel safe on a subconscious level, your thoughts and emotions are calmer, your body feels relaxed and the way you live your life changes. Your mind can slow down to make everyday life decisions a lot easier. Once you feel safe on a subconscious level, your whole life can change in a positive way as you will act from a place of inner calm and consciousness. This will result in you being able to unleash your full potential and achieve what you want in life.

Consciously control automatic negative thoughts and retrain your mind to think positive thoughts. When you change your habitual thoughts and behavioural patterns you can start living the life you want to live.
The initial consultation can last up to 90 minutes. In this session we will discuss your issues and goals extensively. I will work with you to break down subconscious blocks at some depth using clinical hypnotherapy and analysis.
These sessions typically last 60 minutes and monitor progress, dealing with any resistance to change you are facing. When all resistance has been broken down, new ideas can be subconsciously accepted and new thought patterns strengthened. Subsequent sessions required will be dependant on the complexity of the issue.

Sessions can effectively take place online, meaning sessions can be conducted anywhere if you have a good internet connection and headphones.
